M24643 Shipboard Cable (Low-Smoke)
The M24643 specification was introduced by the US Navy to address concerns about flammability, and toxicity. This specification covers low-smoke, flame-resistant cables. They are approximately equal in size, weight, and electrical characteristics to the older M915 constructions.
